Try this One Nightly Riitual to Manage Stress and Sleep Better.

Stress. We all experience it in some form or another. And a stress-free life is something we all aspire too. There's good stress and bad stress. Bad stress can interfere with sleep, wreak havoc on your immune system and cause your metabolism to stall. Stress also assaults your skin by causing wrinkles and hormonal imbalances that can lead to breakouts and thirsty, irritated skin. 

Unfortunately, we can't manage stress triggers, but we can choose daily activities that help us to manage and reduce the amount of stress that threatens our well being on a consistent basis. Believe it or not, what we eat and the amount of exercise we get and even how often we laugh can help us cope with stress. But there is one overlooked nightly ritual that can help you melt away stress and put you on a path to stress-free living. It's a nightly bath. Soaking just 20 minutes every night before bed can have a significant impact on your sleep, breathing and overall health.

A warm bath with the right ingredients is something to include in your nighttime ritual that doesn't require a lot of planning but can be a real gamechanger. Here's how to do it. 

  • Start with warm water.  (Avoid hot water which raises your temperature. Also  avoid cold water because, well, who wants a cold bath.)
  • Add essentials oils, like Lavender, Chamomile or Clary Sage which all promote restfulness. Be sure to avoid citrus essential oils that promote wakefulness. Also, remember to use just a drop or two, a little goes a long way.
